Why crawl when you can stand? December 30, 2008

The whole crawling thing was fun, for about a week. But I’ve moved on – like Mommy and Daddy I get bored easily. Since this past weekend I’m all about pulling myself up and standing – like, all the time. Just before I realized I could stand up (and maybe escape!!???) from my crib, Mommy, Granny Smith & Marcy lowered the mattress and raised the rail – rats, they were one step (ha ha) ahead of me – foiled, but only for now …

Xman does Xmas December 26, 2008

I entertained a bunch of my family this Christmas – I was so in demand even my Aunt Ashley, Uncle Ryan and cousins (who are Jewish and don’t usually celebrate Christmas) agreed to come participate in the whole Santa thing just to be with me (way to take one for the team Zakai, Anisa & Sarina!).

Granny & Grandpa Smith flew in from Vancouver with Uncle Gord. Uncle Gord had a lot of fun with my cousins – he’s approximately their age so that all worked out …

but unfortunately Aunt Lenka was stuck back in Vancouver in MAJOR SNOW! We missed her big time

We also missed Grandpa Mike and Ann but we’ll see them in a few weeks when we go visit so that should be fun.
We did stockings,

Xmas tree, gingerbread stuff (Anisa is the best gingerbread house/tree/train maker ever!),

yummy Xmas dinner (thanks Annie & Daddy!)

and, of course, gifts
.

Sarina helped feed me one day (and slipped me some chocolate M&Ms when Daddy wasn’t looking) and Zakai destroyed Daddy in Wii bowling.
All and all, I dig the whole Xmas thing and can’t wait for next year. But Mommy says now I have to be good for a WHOLE year??? Aw geez ….

Peas & crawling December 21, 2008

It’s 100% official now – the Xman is on the move. If I want to get somewhere, I no longer have to rely on Mommy or Daddy – I mean I still let out a lot of grunts, squeals and groans to let M&D know that it would be EASIER FOR EVERYONE if they’d just carry me to my desired destination, but that’s just covering my bases.
They’ve also started feeding me peas – not so sure I’m liking them – color aside (hello, pukey or what?) the texture and taste are just so inferior to breast milk … for now I’m putting up with the green mess to see what comes next but not sure how this is going to work out long term.
I’ll leave you all with a picture of me all bundled up for a walk in Vegas – we had to go searching for appropriate attire and all mommy could find was a stuffed bear that doubles as a hat … my visor, shades, bermuda shorts and hawaiian shirts just weren’t cutting it during this Arctic front we’re in the middle of.

Later,

Real food & snow in Vegas December 17, 2008

So I’m happy to announce that Mommy & Daddy have FINALLY let me start eating real food … it’s about time! The Doctor said to start me slow in case I’m not that into it but trust me, I’m into it
… I’m ready for something a little more interesting than rice cereal though … reminds me of mommy’s cooking …

In other news, it’s snowing in Vegas! What the??? I thought this is what we tried to avoid in Vancouver this time of year … are we being stalked by Vancouver snow or something??

By the way, snow tastes yummy … just stay away from the yellow stuff!
Over and out from snowy Vegas,
Xman
Mooooooooo December 1, 2008

In the spirit of stocking up on blackmail material now in case I need some “gentle” persuading in the future, Mom decided to dress me and my buddy Lachlan up in cow outfits and photograph us hanging on the couch. Nothing like getting a laugh at your child’s expense … thanks a ton, Mom. Not embarrassed in the least … really.
