I met my nanny Marcy last night and I think she is great! She is going to help Mommy and Daddy entertain me 24/7 … I believe in building my entourage early and often :)

Not much new to report – I had a long week of eating, sleeping, spitting up and pooping and am hoping to relax this weekend. I’m sure next week will be another long one – I’m sending Daddy off to the Rio to get into WSOP fever and bring home some bacon … I mean if already this year Andy has come in 2nd in an event and Perry has almost made a final table (?!?) don’t you think Daddy is a natural shoe-in??? I’m taking some side action …

This is a photo of me in one of mommy’s favorite poses … especially in the middle of the night when she’s trying to sleep ….

Out for now,

Xman

I’m 1 Week Old! June 4, 2008

I went for my one week check up today and all is good. As is the case with most newborns, I have dropped a bit of weight down to 7 lbs 8 ounces (4 ounces this week) and I think mommy is a bit jealous that I’ve lost more weight (on a relative basis) than she has. Don’t worry mommy, your tummy will go away soon!

It was mommy & daddy’s first whole day with me on their own. Daddy wanted to hog me all to himself this afternoon so he sent mommy to get a manicure and pedicure. She came back very relaxed and Dad & I had some good mano a mano time.

Mommy & Daddy have started using diaper changes as the currency in their prop bets. While Dad got off to an early lead by taking the under on my weight today, after he cashed one in (that wasn’t even a poopy one – rookie move, Dad) he then lost to Mom in a game of Lost Cities after dinner. She tells me she is monitoring my poops and waiting for a nice, big stinky one to cash in on the one he owes her … I’ll do my best to help her out, just to tilt daddy :)

I’m off to sleep (for a while) then back on mommy’s boob(s) later …

Signing off from Vegas,

Xman

I was profiled in Luxury Las Vegas magazine this month … well, actually the article talked more about mommy & daddy’s wedding (which was April 14, 1 BX – 1 yr Before Xander) but I was mentioned (in my early days ruining mommy’s chance to fit back into her wedding dress for an after-the-fact bridal session – oops!) and then at the end announcing my arrival. If you ask me, they saved the best part for last :) . PDF of article attached below.

My friend Andy… June 2, 2008

My friend Andy Bloch was at the final table of the World Series of Poker last night and came in second. I was very upset about it, and wanted him to know that me, Mom and Dad were at home last night rooting for him. In consideration of Uncle Andy’s great performance and the start of the WSOP, I had dad take this picture of me…

Today was a good day. Mom went to the doctor and got some staples removed and checked out — she’s doing really well. Dad gave me a bath for the first time today too. The water was a little too cold, and I let Dad know that I wasn’t happy about it by peeing all over him. He’ll do better next time, I’m sure.

Rosemary, my Doula, has been a great help. She’s always here helping mom get used to me and teaching her how to do everything the right way. Unfortunately, she’s leaving tomorrow to go back to San Diego and mom and dad will be on their own. I really hope they learned everything they needed to know. Thank you Rosemary! If you guys are looking for a Doula, I can tell you that Rosemary is the absolute best. You can find her at www.northcountydoulas.com.

We made it home from the hospital safe and sound.  My Doula, Rosemary, is here helping me and mom breastfeed — I cry a lot when we start, but I’m figuring it out slowly but surely.  I really like the right one, but the left one not so much.

Everyone is saying how much I look like my dad.  What do you think?  Here’s a picture of him at the same age (about 10 minutes old).
